Vigil I Tried

Vigil
I tried
to ponder about the enormity of this world
Feel for the feelings of the world
and all its people
But
I could not
USA!
USA!
USA!
People surrounding me spat words of patriotism that
I did not understand
drumming, pounding
shouting
Cars driving
honking
endlessly
Waving Red, White, and Blue
flags
to dry my tears
Vigil, it was no a longer an hour
Of candlelight
No longer a vigil for reflection
Vigil to mourn or vigil to think about the deceased
and the still living
It was now a night for
Headaches
A night to yell
The United States' supremacy
No longer for justice
No longer for healing and helping
But now revenge
