I’m afraid, too

I’m scared of a bad man
I’m scared in the dark
I’m scared in the office
and to walk thru the park
I’m scared of the fires
I’m scared to speak out
I don’t know who is right
or what it’s about
is it coin or religion
fieldwork or pride
I’m scared of the fighting
and too scared to hide
I’m scared of the pain
I’m scared of the flies
on a rotting man’s body
I’m scared of the lies
I’m scared of fanatics
who rule by the gun
and I don’t care what side
of the world they live on
