Kesaya  E. Noda

52 years old
Hanover, NH

I am a Japanese American poet. I work in higher education and help grow Christmas trees and blueberries on our family farm in rural New Hampshire. I am the daughter of two activists -- 83 and 86 -- who have worked for peace and justice their entire lives. I wish to carry on their work.

Make Us See

We are the only.
Who turn upon
our own kind.
Slaughter ourselves.
God! Make us see.
One breath
every baby
breathes.

(Statement: To President Bush)

I am horrified by your intent to take us into war, your disregard for the civil liberties and the precious precendents that guarantee rights under our laws, your collusion with and protection of corporations, your regard for the rich and disregard for the poor, your lies. President Bush, I protest your actions and policies and state that YOU DO NOT ACT IN MY NAME.

Sincerely,
Kesaya E. Noda
