the boogie (sept. 25, 2001)

what’s the boogie?
that is the question
to groove or not to groove.
we ar one nation
banging drums       funky
has new meaning
it’s the bomb,
uh huh
that’s what the people be sayin
it’s the bomb

and you
are you going to put yr
needle in the groove
or skip in place
you could spin your
laser light could
cd optical beam out
the fresh sound
calling all satellites
calling all
lovers
and
dreamers
and headnodders
and bodypoppers
and recordspinners
and
lovers

one nation
indivisible
in
di
vis
i
ble
rock
rock the
planet
rock

music
hot like
molten rock
n   ash
the ember
to remember
got you
jumpin jumpin
spin leap fallin
out yo skin
the fire within
and next time

won’t be no next time
bayyybeee
so you better get up
uh huh
ah said get, get, get
get up

now somebody
everybody
somebody

scream
